CS: GO was created by the legendary Counter-Strike team at Valve. It was first released in 2012 for the PC and Mac as Counter-Strike: Source, a non-commercial standalone game that had a simple playstyle and was easier to pick up than the full version. It has since been expanded upon and released for consoles in 2013 with the first two games, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, following in 2014 and 2016 respectively.
It is the first Counter-Strike game to release on Microsoft’s Xbox One console and also the first Counter-Strike game to be released on Sony’s PlayStation 4.
